It was near the end of fall when they arrived in the village of Tumbleton, the crisp autumn air biting their skin as they made their way through the hustle and bustle of the busy village.  It was a small farming village and they had arrived just in time for the annual persimmon harvest festival, much to the delight of Zedd.  There were children laughing as they ran through the winding little streets, the festival starting to just get into full swing.

The farmers had just brought in the days harvest and everyone was heading towards the town square.  There was music and the smell of food wafting in their direction so they followed, Zedd eager to reach the food, Kahlan eager to dance with Richard.  The people of the town were simple villagers, in awe of the fact that the Mother Confessor and Seeker had stopped by their humble village and in the midst of the Persimmons Festival of all times, they couldn’t be more thrilled.

When the group reached the center of the festivities Zedd headed straight for the food while Cara stood awkwardly off to the side, the older people of the town eyeing her with some apprehension.  Children chased each other through the legs of the couples dancing, not paying any attention to the important guests who had stopped in their small village.  Richard walked Kahlan to the center of the town square and pulled her into his arms, taking her and dancing to the music in the middle of the crowd.

As the whispers of the Mother Confessor being in Tumbleton, even the people who didn’t care for the festival were peeking their heads out of the windows of their simple homes in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the Mother Confessor or Seeker of Truth.    Mothers were stopping their children and telling them to watch the couple dance and remember this day always as this will be something they could someday tell their grandchildren about.  They could tell them about the Mother Confessor and Seeker stopping in their village on the night of the Persimmons Festival and dancing together in the moonlight.  It was a sight that had never been seen before and most doubted would ever be seen again.

Cara just watched them, trying her hardest to not enjoy herself while Zedd indulged in every possible type of persimmon food you could imagine.  Richard and Kahlan slowly swayed to the music, holding each other close and earning looks from several of the townspeople.  They couldn’t understand why the Seeker and Confessor were so close.  To the children of Tumbleton it was just the Persimmon Festival but to the adults who knew better, they realized how special this occasion was. It have the Seeker and Confessor in their little farming town was beyond what anyone could have hoped for and for them to be there on their most special night of the year. It was a once in a life time experience that few would forget.
